Editorial policy

The Influenza Specialist Group (ISG) is a collaboration of  medical and scientific specialists from around the Australia and New Zealand with an interest in influenza. The ISG is chaired by Dr Alan Hampson, former Deputy Director of the Australian World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Reference and Research on Influenza.

The medical information provided on the ISG website is developed by the health professionals from these professional organisations for use by general practitioners, other health professionals, medical, pharmaceutical and nursing students, and the community.

The medical information and treatment protocols presented such as the handbooks, pamphlets and educational materials are based on current medical knowledge and practice as at the date of publication. Where appropriate, information contained on this site will be supported by clear references to source data and, where possible, have specific HTML links to that data. The date when a clinical page was last modified will be clearly displayed at the bottom of the page.

The ISG provides a secure environment for storing personal data in both the physical format via filing and storage areas and for data in electronic format via our computer system.

Funding

The ISG receives funding from a number of pharmaceutical companies and, through its Board of Directors, maintains full control over all of its activities and published materials.

The ISG website does not accept paid advertisements.
